Dr. Rita Kumar received her M.D. from
Lady Harding
Medical College,
Delhi University,
Delhi, India. She received her
diploma in clinical pathology from Meerut
University UP, India.
Having moved to the United States
in 1979, she finished her residency in Internal Medicine from Deaconess Hospital
at St. Louis, University, St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr Kumar is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, and a member of the American College Of Physicians. As a
Clinical Preceptor, she is active in teaching the Medical Student Program for
her office at UCLA; in the Resident Training Program of Internal Medicine at Cedar Sinai
Medical Center,
has served as Director of Outpatient Ambulatory Care Program at the Medical
Group of Beverly Hills, for the Resident
Training Program of Internal Medicine for Cedar Sinai
Medical Center.
In addition, she participates in teaching seminars for holistic
medicine. She is a Senior Attending Physician at Cedar
Sinai Medical
Center and Brotman Medical Center.
Dr. Kumar has been nominated for the Pioneer of Medicine Award in 1996
and 1998 for Cedar
Sinai Medical
Center. Her
interests are Western primary care medicine, holistic medicine and Eastern
philosophies.
